it was working, then an update occured , and WIFI dissapeared

Had a working system.
been fine for weeks under testing.
then an update occured for the os
it all works except for the WIFI

I can plug in a USB ethernet & that pops up immidiatly, just no wifi

first thing i tried........ before filing a report (should have mentioned it)
i have that empty file added & rebooted several times.
it made NO difference.

I have solid development EXP.
where should I be looking to debug?
