qwerty keyboard

Dear Danielle,
I installed successfully Elementary OS8 on a old iMac (core 2 duo). today.
everyting working smoothly, but the keyboard.
I can select only qZerty keyboard. Apparently no qwerty keyboard can be selected. I tried most of them.
I tried different "Sudo" command to reset the keyboard to qwerty but unsucessfully.

Could you shed a light how to have a common qwerty keyboard, please?

Another little bug is wi-fi: connected but it is not working fast.
Ethernet connection via cable is totally fine.

You can configure to use the QWERTY in the US keyboard layout from Keyboard → Layout in System Settings. Click Add Keyboard Layout… here:

Then, select English (US)… → Default and then click Add Layout:

Also, you can do the same thing in Initial Setup too:

Another little bug is wi-fi: connected but it is not working fast.

I"m not sure if this works, but possibly an additional driver for your WLAN device might available from System → Drives in System Settings, and installing it might resolve your issue.

I did it several times but all of them are qzerty and not qwerty.
I tried several keyboards, several languages.
is it possible that only for me this problem?
I tried also with terminal "sudo keyboard configure....." nothing, the keyboard remain qzerty and not qwerty.
My desktop is iMac core 2 duo.
I will post some pictures.

If you have several layouts set up, you will need to switch to the one you want in the top panel

have you tried "setxkbmap -layout [yourlanguagecode]" ?
no sudo. In classic session.
