The native file manager (Files) used to have a Dropbox plugin but support ceased many years ago. you can install deb packages using eddy: https://appcenter.elementary.io/com.github.donadigo.eddy/ for the tray icon you would need to install this one: https://github.com/lenemter/wingpanel-indicator-namarupa |

As far as I'm aware Dropbox only officially supports Ubuntu and Fedora. There is a community-maintained Dropbox installer available in AppCenter, but it's not officially supported by Dropbox. As of May 2025 Dropbox only supports Unity (Ubuntu) and KDE Plasma as desktop environments: https://help.dropbox.com/installs/dropbox-desktop-app-for-linux#Supported-desktop-environments It is possible to modify your operating system to be able to support Dropbox, but the simple answer to your question is that no Dropbox does not support running on elementary OS officially or without modifying your operating system |

Thanks for the info. Given that Linux Mint integrates very well with
Dropbox, including full sync status notifications, I will just stick with
that distro.
