Allow header file includes via git

I would like to be able to use git to fetch files in the includes section for header and cpp files.

Why the uncertainty?

I am not exactly sure if this goes towards core ot custom component stuff?

Use cases

I want to define functions for use in the lambdas but would like users to only need to paste a small config with a packages definition, that then pulls all the rest of the files/configs.

What areas might this affect?

I have tried to get this to work both via custom components and the packages git config without success, however, I might be doing something wrong here. I tried to search both for examples and issues about this but found nothing.
