Describe the enhancement

In 2026.1.0, this was added #12425 to add a config file hash to the version text sensor (https://esphome.io/components/text_sensor/version/)

I would like to be able to turn it off

I currently have this:

text_sensor:
  - platform: version
    name: "ESPHome Version XYZ Device"
    hide_timestamp: true

which displays as:

2026.1.0 (config hash 0xd1f14938)

I would like to be able to just have 2026.1.0 again

Use cases

Simplifies display of versions when you have multiple devices and don't care about the config hash

Until then, can be worked around with a filter:

text_sensor:
  - platform: version
    ...
    hide_timestamp: true
    filters:
      - lambda: |-
          auto s = x;
          size_t p = s.find(" (");
          if (p != std::string::npos) s = s.substr(0, p);
          return s;
