Describe the component you'd like

The TMP1826 is higher resolution (16 bit) and more accurate (0.2 degrees C) than the 12 bit 0.5 degree C DS18b20 (dalles_temp) sensor. TMP1826 also has different address prefix. A modification of the dalles_temp component should be relatively easy to allow reading 16-bit TMP1826 and accessing its I/O pins.

What are your use cases for this component?

Anywhere an un-sealed DS18b20 would be used. Plus GPIO pins can be used as binary sensor or to control relays over 1-wire.

Thanks for your question. There is this board from Mikroe: https://www.mikroe.com/temp-log-7-click The Mikroe Board has some extra components to work with their Mikroe bus and to allow selectable supply voltage. I was going to use a VSSOP to DIP adapter to prototype using the VSSOP-8 version of the TMP1826 and then get PCBs made with the smaller (and somewhat more accurate) WSON-8 version. Both chips are readily available on Digikey and Mouser. Mouser has better pricing in this case. $2.05 each for Q10 for VSSOP and $2.08 Q10 for the WSON. https://www.mouser.com/c/?q=TMP1826 Mouser has the Mikroe board in stock for $10.54. I hope this is helpful.
