Bangle JS Device Connection Failing

Hello,
I have had a BangleJS for about 3 years now, and absolutely love it; however, it has recently been encountering some issues connecting with my main device (A M1 MacBook from 2020 on Sonoma - I have tried to update, but that's encountering other issues), and I was using a 2015 iMac that I can use (it sucks though). Unfortunately, that device is no longer with us; it died last week and I do not believe it is fixable. Now, I have no devices that I can use, and I need to connect; both for apps and for development.

I have tried rebooting, updating, using different browsers, flattening the watch, flattening the laptop, and connecting via Bluetility; nothing as worked. Does anyone have any ideas? I do not know if it's an issue on the laptop or the watch as both can connect to any other device but each other.

So you say that the BangleJS can connect to another device? Then the bluetooth hardware should be fine. But you also said you have no devices to use. So how do you know it can connect to another device and bluetooth on the watch is working?

There is only one possible concurrent connection to the watch so if anything is connected to the watch nothing else can connect. Can it be that something else is still connected to the watch?

I do not have anything connected to it, as I usually have it turned off and the only device that it has been paired with (beside the one that it can't connect to) is now dead. I know that it can connect to another device and the bluetooth on the watch is working because it could connect to the device as of like a month ago.

Maybe check in your watch and see if the bluetooth widget is blue or grey? If it's blue then there's a connection.

Do you see the Bangle in the list of devices on your Mac? It just won't connect?

First, check that the Bangle isn't listed in the Mac OS's list of Bluetooth devices. If it is, click 'forget'

One reason might be if you've paired the Bangle with the Mac at some point, and it's possible that the Bangle's pairing info doesn't match the Mac's and so the connection gets rejected. You can also try clearing pairing info from the Bangle - hold the button down for ~15 secs - until the 'Recovery Menu' appears. That's enough to clear pairing info. Next, I'd try and connect with the Bangle in that state - but you can always just tap 'Reboot' to restart the Bangle normally.

I do not see it under the bluetooth menu, it is not connected to another device, but it shows up in the connection menu as I attempt to connect it to the App Loader. I have attempted the recovery menu, and tried pairing; it still failed. The only way I can see it in the MacOS menu is in Bluetility.

This is what you'd expect. By default Bangle.js doesn't advertise a service Mac OS is interested in, so you have to connect via the App Loader/IDE in the web browser.

So what happens when you try to connect from the connection menu in the App Loader?

It fails, saying "Device connection failed, NetworkError: Connection Error: Connection attempt failed."

It's hard to know what to suggest (sometimes this gets fixed by restarting the Mac but you say you tried that?). And you've got 'Passkey', 'Privacy' and 'Whitelist' off in the Bangle.js Bluetooth settings?

One thing you could try is to enable HID in Bangle.js's settings - that makes the watch appear as if it's a bluetooth keyboard, which might make MacOS more willing to connect to it?

Otherwise do you have a phone you can connect with? You can use that for the app loader and can use the Web IDE relay (open IDE on desktop, click connect, then Remote Connection and scan the QR code with your phone).
