Issue with Bangle.js 2 Accelerometer

Hello,

I'm experiencing a recurring problem with my Bangle.js 2 watch (ordered in March), where the accelerometer suddenly stops working after a period of time (usually half a day).

Problem details:

• Firmware version: 2v25
• The accelerometer randomly stops working for the Health Tracking app.
• I see gaps in Gadgetbrige stats (sometimes for the accelerometer only, sometimes for both HRM and the accelerometer), and the pedometer stops working.
• However, the accelerometer sometimes work when the Heart Rate Monitor application is launched (but when it does, stats for the Health Tracking app are still broken).
• Usually a full restart is needed to get everything working again temporarily.

Troubleshooting steps already taken:

• Compacting storage
• Factory reset from recovery menu and re-installation (no backup used)
• Letting the battery drain completely overnight (accelerometer remains dead after recharging, see video below)
• Draining and recharging the battery again (accelerometer works initially, but eventually fails during use as explained above)
• Accessing logs from the remote connection of the web ide
• Looking in the forum for similar issues (I found this post, however it mentions an older version of the firmware, and this about draining the battery)

Additional information:

• A video demonstrating the issue is available here, it shows that the accelerometer is completely unresponsive, including in the "Test" menu of recovery.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice on what I can try next to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue, thanks !

Sorry you're having problems, and thanks for trying all that stuff - I've got to say I've never really come across that before at all.

Just to check: You did a factory reset, and after that you managed to get it working for a while and then it still broke again?

I ask because it's possible for apps to reconfigure the accelerometer, so it is possible for an installed app to potentially cause problems, and then maybe after it started working after a factory reset it might stay working?

If you connect with the Web IDE at https://www.espruino.com/ide, do you see any messages when swapping between apps? And if you paste Bangle.on("accel",print);setTimeout(load,2000) into the left-hand side and press enter, what does it print?

Finally - I've got to ask - you haven't been swimming/bathing/showering/etc with the Bangle that could have got it submerged in water for a while? This kind of instability sounds a bit like an electrical problem that could be due to corrosion inside the device - it's actually possible that just having it somewhere warm and try for a few days would dry it out and fix it properly if that's the case.
