@joedolson, looks like it's just you and me . . . so far. |

It does seem that way. I'm going to give it a little more time (I'm traveling this upcoming week, so I'm not going to have a lot of time to follow up anyway.) |

First question: Is the brand FAIR or FAIR pm/PM? |

In the TSC Charter, the project is referred to as "FAIR Package Manager" (hence the PM!) |

Are we looking for people to submit a full branding guidline, or is this going to be broken out into branding topics?
Etc. |

some of those would be split out, like documentation guidelines (we already have something there I think). I like to start with messaging and tone of voice, then discuss all the fonts, logos, colours etc from there since whatever they are must reflect the message you're trying to convey. We had an interim tone of voice document somewhere, and it wouldn't hurt to draft some form of comms policy. |

There are a few different elements to work on, certainly. I think it makes to start with voice and messaging. After all, we currently have a website, even if it's not the branding we want - but we don't have a clear voice or message. If we came to a standard on those points, we could implement them immediately. But after determining brand design, we'll have a fair amount of work to actually implement the changes. I will freely admit that I am very much not somebody who knows anything about voice or messaging. Does anybody here want to take a stab at starting something about that? Existing relevant sources include: As a part of the messaging guidance, we'll clearly need to define the branding name and use, which can then be used to help shape the direction of logo/wordmark development. |

With the end of the current stage of planning for the FAIR Foundation, we're freed up to make some decisions about branding that were previously being delegated to the future Foundation.
We'll be discussing colors, brand identity, communications policies, and a publishing sign-off process.
