Android widget picture widget refresh/open and detection of picture not loaded

Describe the feature

I would like to have for picture widget to have option to open AND update.

Use cases

When see something actionable in image widget, I click on it to access image on HA app. This doesn't seem to trigger update of widget which would be nice to have. Currently need to set widget to update on click, and loose the open function
-> would be handy to have option of both

Additionally, if possible, detecting picture didn't load properly (no image shown) and retry getting picture would be nice. Not sure if there is technical obstacles for this.
