As part of our purpose-specific triggers and conditions feature, we have considered adding specific
energytriggers and conditions. But, we have no real input on what those would look like and how they would work, and so I have come to you!Let me quickly set the stage. With "purpose-specific triggers and conditions", we have added the ability for any integration to add triggers and conditions to Home Assistant, much like any integration can already add actions. These triggers and conditions could work cross-domain. So for example, we've added
temperaturetriggers that respond to entities in thesensor, climate, andwater_heaterdomains.We were thinking about what we could do with the
energydomain. Initially, we thought of triggers like:But because energy usage probably fluctuates throughout the year, we felt these were nice, but not great.
Now, we'd like to hear from you: what sort of triggers/conditions related to your energy usage would you like to see added? What would you use them for? To help us understand your use case, please provide as much detail as possible! If you're already solving your use case another way, please let us know too and share how!
