Describe the enhancement
In the Settings > Devices & services > [ + Add integration ] dialog, the ability to filter the list of integrations based on the types or purposes (already used on https://home-assistant.io) can help discover or identify available integrations which are already available in Home Assistant.
Use cases
With so many integrations available to leverage, discovery within Home Assistant of what exists for potential integrations is limited to text-searches based on name, or scrolling through the entire list.
Compare the in-app experience to the home-assistant.io docs pages though, and you’ll see there are multiple filters available for narrowing a search down to specific categories of Multimedia, Lights, Health, Environment, Utilities, etc. There’s a filter for the type of IoT integration like local-push vs cloud-based, etc.
Having the full list of integrations in the app without a way to realistically browse/filter for possibilities feels like an opportunity to improve user experience that could help both new and advanced users alike to discover new functionality based or identify solutions based on what problem-space they’re trying to solve within.
