Use cases

Testing sunrise and sunset triggers without waiting all day. Motion sensors without physically waving at them. Gate and doorbell sensors without manually triggering hardware. Any time based trigger without waiting hours

Current workarounds

Manually add a temporary input_boolean as a fake trigger, test, then remove it. Time consuming and messy

If you only want to test the actions defined in an automation, you can use the "Run actions" button from the 3-dot menu
