The reason is that x11iraf sources use some constructs that are not allowed for newer C compilers. This was fixed after the release 2.1.
I prepared a new release candidate 2.2rc2 now which should fix this. Can you download https://github.com/iraf-community/x11iraf/archive/refs/tags/v2.2rc2.tar.gz and see whether this works better?
