Plugins not showing as avaialable updates

I have Kanboard installed on Ubuntu
I can wget the https://kanboard.org/plugins.json file and it shows as json on my server so I know its able to connect out...
the versions listed in the above file are newer than those displayed in my plugin page
https://mydomain.com/extensions

There are no php errors in apache2/errors.log

I'm sure I used to see Upgrade options in the Action Column of the above page but I see only uninstalls.

I'd like to avoid going through and checking and installing each plugin manually
