Just for clarity; Even without a shortcut it is possible to install directly from a raw codeberg https url, I assume that you intend for both I think there are quite a few other gitea instances running with various domains names, in different regions of the world. Each domain added will add size to all firmwares that include the I think the current shortcut code could possibly be refactored to reduce that impact, but that will need to be measured. Is there a way to estimate how many MicroPython projects are or will be using codeberg or similar? |

I've noticed that many projects have moved to Codeberg recently. GitLab is less frequently used as a replacement. |

I have stuff on github and it will stay there. But I will not be contributing any new code there. It would be nice to not default to a service that many people are deeply uncomfortable with. I'm not especially attached to codeberg, I just use it to mirror a personal ForJo instance, but it is becominga well known and important source. Also; the EU digital sovereignty project is now in full swing. People are being funded to create services and tools that are ours, not russian american or chinese. A lot of these grants stipulate thet the primary repo and publication source is located in EU juristriction. |
