Can student participants use GitHub Models (Azure AI Inference) instead of paid Azure AI Foundry deployments?

Hi, I'm a student participant and I don't have budget to use Azure AI Foundry with a paid model deployment. Is it valid to use GitHub Models (which uses the Azure AI Inference endpoint at models.inference.ai.azure.com) as the AI backbone for our multi-agent system? GitHub Models is part of Microsoft/Azure infrastructure and is free for students. Thank you!
