Script to migrate from TTRSS to Miniflux

If you were using Tiny Tiny RSS and decided to migrate to Miniflux, you might be interested by this: https://github.com/JPFrancoia/ttrss_migration.

It's a rough script to migrate the content of your TTRSS database to Miniflux. It'll read the feeds and articles from the TTRSS database and convert this data to the Miniflux equivalent. It'll migrate all your articles, including their state (read/unread, starred), so that you won't lose your years of RSS usage.

Note that you'll need to be able to access both databases at the same time (but that shouldn't be a problem if you self-host).

Just to add another option for folks migrating from TT-RSS:

I’ve also published a small one-time migration script, but it imports entries via the
Miniflux HTTP API (using the entry import endpoint that was recently added), rather
than writing directly to the Miniflux database.

Because it goes through the API, imported entries:

• pass through Miniflux’s normal validation logic
• use the standard deduplication mechanisms
• don’t bypass internal checks

One trade-off is that API-based imports will generally run slower than direct
database writes, since entries go through Miniflux’s normal validation and
deduplication logic — this was intentional.

The intended workflow is:

• export feeds from TT-RSS as OPML
• import OPML into Miniflux
• run the script (typically one year at a time)

It’s deliberately minimal and meant to be edited, run once, and discarded — not a
supported or long-term tool.
