How to search on BelongsTo of BelongsTo :)

Hi,

Another question in mooshine 2.x.

I have a TrackingFile entity linked to a Vehicle with a BelongsTo relation. This Vehicle have a linke to a Make entity with a BelongsTo relation.

It's actually possible to search on BelongsTo linked entity of the resource like that for exemple :

    public function search(): array
    {
        return [
            'id',
            'code',
            'vehicle.name',
            'vehicle.chassis_number',
            'supplier.name',
        ];
    }

    public function filters(): array
    {
        return [
            Text::make(__('moonshine::ui.resource.stock.vehicle_tracking_files.code.label'), 'code'),
            BelongsTo::make(__('moonshine::ui.resource.stock.vehicle_tracking_files.vehicle.label'), relationName: 'vehicle', resource: new VehicleResource, formatted: static fn ($item) => sprintf('%s %s', $item->chassis_number, $item->name))
                ->searchable()
                ->nullable(),
            BelongsTo::make(__('moonshine::ui.resource.stock.vehicle_tracking_files.supplier.label'), relationName: 'supplier', resource: new SupplierResource)
                ->searchable()
                ->nullable(),
        ];
    }

But it's not possible to search on BelongsTo of BelongsTo. In my exemple, trackingFile.vehicle.make.

I try this, without success :

    public function search(): array
    {
        return [
            'vehicle.make.name',
        ];
    }

    public function filters(): array
    {
        return [
            BelongsTo::make(__('moonshine::ui.resource.stock.vehicle_tracking_files.vehicle.make.label'), relationName: 'vehicle->make', resource: new MakeResource())
                ->searchable()
                ->nullable(),
        ];
    }

Is ther a way to do that ?

Use asyncSearch with custom asyncQuery

Hi @lee-to , thanks for your anwser, but unfortunatly, i think i misspoken.

Other exemple with a product.

I have this :

class Order extends Model
{
    public function product()
    {
        return $this->belongsTo(Product::class);
    }
}

class Product extends Model
{
    public function category()
    {
        return $this->belongsTo(Category::class);
    }
}

And a resource :

class OrderResource extends Resource
{
    public static string $model = Order::class;

    public array $search = [
        'id', // Recherche sur l'ID de la commande
        'product.name', 
        'product.category.name', 
    ];

    public function fields(): array
    {
        return [
            BelongsTo::make('Product', 'product', resource: ProductResource::class)
                ->asyncSearch(),

            BelongsTo::make('Category', 'product.category', resource: CategoryResource::class)
                ->asyncSearch(),
        ];
    }
}

But it didn't work.

The search didn't search on product.category.name, and i got an error with BelongsTo::make('Category', 'product.category', resource: CategoryResource::class) (Call to undefined method Order::product.category()).

Did you have any ideas of how i can do that ?

Relationships cannot be specified in fields separated by dots.
