File management via direct access over Samba #1743

I second the option to have option to access the files:
the local option will help for any big changes at local speed...wether that is done via Samba or multiple OC_Domain option (IP address) I am not sure but for cases (myself included) who are thinking of transition from another solution to OpenCloud have a very large file structure already. Uploading everything via the cloud is slow (limited to the uplink/downlink)...while if we could add the whole file/folder structure at the start for OpenCloud to index preodically would be excellent. @BRBWaffles -- To your other point of drag-drop and ease of use; that to me is already available using the windows client (v3 beta is released recently with VFS option...which is great); via that you can easily drag-drop or do what ever very similar to the Samba style...but again the only limitation everythign would be still limited to cloud-speed. |

I found another discussion; which I am still trying to understand but might enable you for external/samba....i don't the how to enable but seems there is a Storage level COLLABORATIVE Mode which enables external manipulation of files/folders outside opencloud... |

I have a Synology that provides both network file sharing (via Samba) and cloud services, giving me direct filesystem access locally and cloud-based access remotely. Practically, this allows me to manage my stored files directly in a directory (with trivial drag and drop functionality that works seamlessly) as well as through the cloud, and also share the files through the cloud remotely. I want to replicate this same functionality with Opencloud. I know Opencloud does not natively have Samba support (but I'm not sure how much that matters if I'm able to just mount that directory using the Samba service separately (which seems like it should be possible)). So, I need Opencloud to automatically detect new files that have been added and index them properly, as well as allowing trivial drag and drop functionality over Samba. I just want something seamless, if it's possible. Any suggestions for how I might go about this?
