General search with filters on documents with permissions applied

Hi all,
This is the use case that I'm trying to solve.
The user wants to search for documents that he can view, but applies standard filters or uses semantic searches, and can sort results. Those searches are paginated, too.
I'm working with a document search engine (opensearch style).
I read about the Search with Permission in the documentation, but I'm still confused about what could be the best approach to work with pagination and sorting in particular, because it looks like very complex to apply.
Any suggestions?
