Would it be possible to create a Bluetooth node (not a phone) that is compatible with Bitchat, and can operate with an external antenna to extend the network’s range?
This would work similarly to how Meshtastic nodes function, where dedicated hardware devices help build and expand the mesh. Having such nodes could significantly improve coverage, increase the effective range, and allow more devices to reliably connect within the Bitchat mesh network.
For example, low-cost and widely available hardware like the ESP32 (or ESP32-based boards with external antenna support), Raspberry Pi, or similar microcontrollers could be used as standalone Bitchat relay nodes. This would allow enthusiasts to easily deploy fixed or portable nodes to strengthen the mesh and make the network more resilient.
