Sharable Catalogs

I like the catalogs feature to simplify dependency management/consistency inside a single monorepo.
But would also like to use it to enforce this consistency across multiple repositories.
Are there currently any plans to make catalogs shareable in any way? I am thinking of having a package that contains the catalog definitions which can be published and consumed normally, and then somehow reference them in my pnpm-workspace.yaml catalog: config, but maybe there are even better ways.

I have read the RFC for the "template catalog" proposal, but that was axed a while ago.

You might be able to use pnpm 10.8's new updateConfig hook (and then again, maybe not).
