Hello @Barry40 we have not had this raised by the community or customers as an issue. I'll leave this open for any feedback, but we do not plan on removing or adding a function to disable news updates. |

When a news item is dismissed it should remain dismissed (for the user that dismissed it) until we push a new news item out. If you are seeing the message reappear after dismissing it, this might speak to a larger issue, perhaps with browser sessions, cookies or local storage being affected (perhaps by a browser extension?). |

That should be correctly, but we are cleaning caches and cookies because we use Chrome also for editing automation and writing scripts like lua, yaml and so. Since the latest news (close) button works with cookies or app cache/ similar, it comes back everytime after cleaned the cookies/cache. And yes, we using an plugin for that. Its similar to the developer version of Chrome. |

I'm also in a position where I log in with the same user on different PCs / Browsers / private Tabs and thus see the News from Portainer again and again despite closing it. I'm actually fine with the banner being there but could it be done in such a way, that it loads together with the environments and not after? Because what happens is:
This delayed load has tripped me up so many times it has made me start looking for ways to switch it off in the settings and googling for a solution thus finding this threat. |

Ask a Question!
Is it possible to disable or stop the latest news button on the uppest?
We are happy with the usage of Portainer, but this drives us crazy....
Everytime when we login we see the banner and have to click it to close.
This is happening the way we are not using cookies and cache due a lot of programming with scripts in chrome.
We are using Portainer Business Edition 2.27.7 LTS, and everytime after login there is latest news with news about the latest update 2.27.0 LTS while there is no updated version, since we using the 2.27.7 (already installed).
Please make it invisible, or make a button to click on for latest news or even better an option to disable this latest news.
Thanks a lot!
