How to ignore a file?

I'd like to ignore a file (CHANGELOG.md) to avoid remark-lint-no-dead-urls from linting it.

I created .remark-lint-no-dead-urls.js where I provide it as part of ignorePatterns. I use it as remark . --frail --rc-path .remark-lint-no-dead-urls.js as here. But it still lints CHANGELOG.md.

Reproduce: privacy.sexy (run: npm run lint:md:external-urls), also used in ez-consent repositories.

What am I doing wrong here?

Ignore paths the option refer to the URL not the file path.
If you want to ignore a file, use a .remarkignore file

Hi, are you sure that ignorePatterns is for URLs, the documentation states the otherwise? I'd love to be able to skip .remarkignore and rely on the JavaScript configuration to avoid one more config file on project root.

There is no such settings, use --ignore-pattern cli args instead.

As @JounQin mentions there is no such setting, but there is a CLI arg.
I'd still recommend the ignore file over using pattern though
