How to set particular config to its original value without killing the tmux server?

this question is similar to this issue, however I'm looking for a way without kill tmux server, is it possible? for example I want to reset something like tmux set -g status-right <somehow get the original value>

I think you can do set -u, or failing that use d in customize mode.
