I built a Bootstrap wrapper with more components, a simple color system, and modern animations 🎉

Hey everyone 👋

Like many of you, I’ve been hacking Bootstrap for years — wiring tooltips manually, fighting the color system, swapping out clunky transitions.

So I built Bravo: a thin enhancement layer on top of Bootstrap that bakes in the fixes I always wished existed.

A few highlights:

• 🎨 Colors that actually scale – every color (including custom ones) expands into a full stepped palette (25 → 975), all as CSS vars + utilities.
• ⚡ Automatic wiring – the Dynamic Observer auto-inits tooltips, dropdowns, popovers, and button loaders. No more new Tooltip(...) sprinkled everywhere.
• 📦 Components you wish existed – programmatic modals, button loaders, interactive tooltips, hover-trigger dropdowns.
• 📱 Layouts that fit today – responsive container gutters, safe-area support, and a cleaner .column-* alias.
• ✨ Animations that feel modern – smoother transitions that don’t feel stuck in 2015.

It’s still Bootstrap under the hood — Bravo just trims some cruft, tweaks defaults, and adds quality-of-life features.

Great job on this @oakleaf - the UI is really nice. I particularly like the refreshed spinners - would like to see these added to Bootstrap v6 :-)

Yeah they are cool but still a little buggy in safari, working on an improved version!

Excellent work! I also end up hacking around providing the some of the things you have provided here. Really good stuff. As v6 is still someway off (I suspect), I'm very tempted...
