Is devfs now required for console output?

I have a question regarding a recent change related to console output and devfs.

It appears that devfs is now required for console output to work.
uk/fs/prio.h is only included inside #if CONFIG_LIBUKFS_DEVFS blocks in both serial.c and tty.c,
(console output registration doesn't happen when devfs is disabled.)

1. Was this an intentional design change?
2. Or is this a bug that should be fixed so console output works independently of devfs?

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @kang-taekyung, thanks for catching this and reaching out. Console output (and file-related functionality of posix-tty more generally, should indeed be independent of devfs/filesystem support); the current state of affairs is a bug, not at all indended, and there is a PR under review to fix this: #1855 .

Oh Nice! I had thougt this was intended like with deprecation of vfscoe so the combination of posix-tty and posix-vfstab was able to produce output for me .
