QuestionHello, I'm using WiX v6.0.2 and have the following bundles and packages scenario: Bundle A (v1.0.0)
Bundle B (v1.0.0)
Note:
If I install Bundle A and then install Bundle B, Package B is upgraded successfully, and everything looks good. However, if I uninstall Bundle B then the upgraded Package B is uninstalled leaving Bundle A without a Package B installed. The result I'm wanting is for Package B to remain installed while Bundle A is installed but for it to get uninstalled when Bundle A is also uninstalled. Is this a supported scenario or am I just going about it the wrong way? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Darren Open Source Maintenance Fee

Due to Burn's design, this case is not handled well today. The simple solution is to repair the remaining bundle to put its missing package back. There are some ideas on how to do this automatically, but they haven't been fully fleshed out. It's not a common case so it hasn't bubbled to the top. |
