NormalizeEntityEvent::setResultField signature

The method accepts only an array as second argument. I tried to use this event to change a string field after normalization , but with the current method signature this is not possible.

Is there a reason , why the method accepts only an array as an object´s field value ?

Thank you for reporting an issue.
This is definitely a bug. Fill free to create PR with the fix.

For now the easiest way to fix it - will be replace the event class during autoloading.
In composer.json update the autoload section.

For example to replace /vendor/oro/platform/src/Oro/Bundle/ImportExportBundle/Event/NormalizeEntityEvent.php file with src/DemoBundle/Event/NormalizeEntityEvent.php during autoload you need to add new filename to autoload.classmap, and old filename to autoload.exclude-from-classmap section:
