What is the point of identities sort by ID ASC?
Atleast for sessions you use created_at DESC, why would you sort them by UUID that is not even UUIDV7?

I think it's more or less arbitrary and it would probably be more useful to sort them by created_at just like the sessions. Not sure how effort it would to change this and probably also a breaking change for many that rely on the current behaviour.
see also this issue ory/network#356 - as far as I can tell its more a "nice to have" at the moment as something that would be important to a lot of users.

Are you just curious or do you have a specific use case that you want to solve?

I need to correct my initial response.
After discussion with the Ory Kratos maintainers, the ID ASC sorting is not arbitrary – it's a deliberate architectural decision for performance and reliability at scale.
Primary keys are already indexed and sorted by the database, making keyset pagination using primary keys more efficient than sorting by value columns like created_at.

If you need it sorted you can solve this either in your application or use the "advanced search" for Ory Kratos; search is available in Ory Network and for the OEL if you are interested.
