Description

Issue description / feature objectives

Containerization and AI is accelerating adoption of python versions.

We currently support 3.9-3.12.

The proposal would be to expand to version 3.14 (current latest) e.g. 3.9-3.14.

Caveats / Assumptions

Current latest GA release of python is 3.14.
Oldest supported version upstream is 3.10.

Today as an example:

  • Default python 3 version in mac os 3.9
  • Default python 3 version in RHEL7 is part of software collections - EOL Jun 2024
  • Default python 3 version in RHEL8 3.6 (3.12 is available) EoL w/o extended update was May 2025
  • Default python 3 version in RHEL9 3.9 (3.12 is available)
  • Default python 3 version in RHEL10 3.12

Given this we don't want to drop 3.9 - only expand moving forward.

Completion Criteria

Pypi release with 3.14 supported.
