enRoute shell history and completion do not work in Eclipse console

It would be nice if the history and completion would work in Eclipse console. Currently they only work in "real" terminals.

My googling suggested that there might be some kind of "raw mode" that we can force the console into. But there seems to be very little information available... probably a deep dive into the console's source code will be required.

Would be great if we could improve the user experience somehow. I just tried the gogo jline shell from felix. Outside eclipse it works really well but inside the console window it is still as plain (bad) as before.

I have no idea how to advance this issue.

I will try to ask for help on the eclipse platform list and later this year see if I can find someone on eclipsecon who knows about this.
