Bad decrypt due to key being fetched as decoded data

I've had trouble downloading a stream due to a bad decrypt error from OpenSSL. It turns out the wrong decrypt key was assembled when doing the faux hexdump of the fetched key file. This in turn was because the crypt key file was fetched as decoded utf8 data, although it's just a series of bytes.
