User story
As a customer I want to store my Block Storage backups in another region so that I can protect my data against regional incidents and meet my disaster recovery requirements
Acceptance criterias
- I can configure distant backup replication for a Block Storage volume and select a target OVHcloud region from the OVHcloud Control Panel or the API
- My volume backups are automatically stored in the selected distant region, in addition to or instead of the local backup location
- I can monitor the distant backup replication status, health, and lag from the OVHcloud Control Panel or the API
- I can configure retention rules for backups stored in the distant region
- I can restore or create a new Block Storage volume from a distant backup in the target region in case of data loss or a regional incident affecting my primary volume
- I can use distant backups to improve the geographic resilience of my data protection strategy beyond local snapshots and same-region backups
