Because the Hover Editor bring ups a fully-featured editor instance, it mistakenly shows up in Vertical Tabs as a regular tab:

is actually the intended behavior, not a mistake. Technically, the fully-featured editor is a real, regular tab. The Hover Editor simply pops this tab out of the rigid workspace environment. Vertical Tabs faithfully reflects this reality.

Furthermore, this is actually a feature that allows users to drag the pinned floating tab directly back into the workspace.

While dragging outside of the Hover Editor works fine, an error occurs if you try to drag it back into the Hover Editor. This seems to be an issue with the Hover Editor itself, and I’m currently investigating. Thank you!

This is very useful indeed.

The main reason I created the issue is because of an awkward plugin interaction when there is a only one tab group: when you bring up a Hover Editor for a tab in such group, the Hover Editor is closed because Vertical Tabs adds a title to the tab group, which reposition the tab that is open in the Hover Editor below the cursor—this closes the Hover Editor abruptly. You can see this in my video in #107: every time, the Hover Editor is closed because of this, I didn't close it myself.

Hi @greetclammy ! Hover Editor tabs will be hidden in the next release of Vertical Tabs, as the latest version of Hover Editor has already implemented the feature that allows users to drag the pinned floating tab directly back into the workspace.
