Description
One of the most annoying part of our ceremonies are the parts where we have to record the identity of an ISO image. We currently do so by dumping the digest of the thing out to the laptop screen. The HC then reads it aloud while the witness records it on the ceremony script. This is time consuming, error prone etc, all the things we want to avoid.
We've discussed using a label printer to minimize the need for certain writing / labeling that must be done during the ceremony (labels for TE bags holding secrets etc). ian pointed out that we might use a label maker for printing out a digest to a label that could then be stuck to an area of the script eliminating the need to record it manually. This would require hooking the label printer up to the laptop and driving it from there so it would have to be stored in the safe deposit box (though no secrets will pass through it). Label printers can be pretty small so this shouldn't be an issue.
lprint is probably how we would want to generate the labels
dymo labelwriter (450?) seems to be well supported on linux w/ lprint
