The "unit" and "feature" tests have not worked since version 2.x. There was some effort to get them working in the 3.0 alpha phase but it was not successful and they have not been touched since.
They do cause confusion for developers, though, who sometimes think they are useful or important.
composer installnow throws lots of warnings about the code not being PSR4 compliant.Let's see how easy it is to simply remove them. The code is still available in git history.
