Description
When Hidamari is running, PaperWM completely stops working properly. Window tiling breaks, layouts stop updating, and the window positions become inconsistent. As soon as Hidamari is closed, PaperWM returns to normal behavior.
Steps to Reproduce
- Start a GNOME session.
- Enable the PaperWM extension.
- Launch Hidamari (live wallpaper).
- Try moving/tiling windows using PaperWM.
Current Behavior
- PaperWM layout stops applying.
- Windows freeze or stay in incorrect positions.
- Tiling logic stops responding.
Expected Behavior
- PaperWM should continue working even when Hidamari is active.
- A live wallpaper should not interfere with the window management logic.
Environment
- Desktop Environment: GNOME
- Window Manager: PaperWM
- Wallpaper Engine: Hidamari
- Distro: (e.g., Zorin OS 17)
- Session: X11
Additional Notes
Hidamari is one of the few stable options for live wallpapers on Linux, so it's frustrating that it cannot be used together with PaperWM. It would be great if this conflict could be investigated or if any workaround could be documented.
