Generated project should use the package manager used by the creation command

yarn create polkadot-dapp # Use Yarn

pnpm create polkadot-dapp # Use PNPM

So keep the lockfiles in npm format, but do yarn install / pnpm install so they would generate their own versions?

Yeah I think that should work, else other scaffolding cli that I've used also allow explicitly defining which package manager to use.
