The relocation error seen in the original bug report has been fixed. Now the provided reproducer compiles (just solc with optimizations enabled taking it's sweet time - around 2 minutes on a m2 pro). The code size limit has since also been bumped up and the resulting contract can be deployed.

However I noticed that this contract only works with setting stack and heap size to some large value (256kb+), which isn't ideal. As a follow up, it seems like a good idea to build some heuristics into the compiler. For stack size it would be better if we don't have to specify it at all (like the VM host could grow it dynamically up to a maximum size?).
