For the RPI5 you need a special image or compile the linux kernel your self. Johan sells the image for a small amount, but the downside is your stuck to the specific version. The image is also optimised for the pihpsdr software. If you take the RPI4 you have no problem. Radioberry works well with the pi4 and also the pluto, maybe not on the highest samplerates (full band width) but I support decimation which lowers the bandrate internally. For now I would go for the Pi4 (4Gb) version, gives the most flexibility. But 2GB is also good. Later if the change of Johan to the linux kernel is accepted by raspberry pi then you can switch to the pi5. |

On the drivers, if you install for pi4 just use the install script, it uses the radioberry drivers from Johan from my fork, which is insync with Johans repository. The radioberry_driver repo is an older experiment between me and Johan. I think I better remove it because its an old version. |

Since the Pluto+ only supports 70mhz to 6Ghz it is primarily a VHF/UHF device. So would it be possible to use the RadioBerry hat for HF bands and the Pluto+ for the UHF and Microwave? Any problem having the RadioBerry hat installed and the Pluto+ on a usb or connected ethernet port at the same time hardware wise?
