RPi beginner

After seeing the Techminds video of SDRBerry I thought I'd have a crack at it. I have Adalm Pluto and HackRF and also SDRPlay#1.
I can cope with flashing a RPi OS to a uSD or pendrive and then log in via ssh and copy/paste commands to hopefully installling everything I need.
I'm not entirely clear how to make the RPi boot up directly into SDRBerry on power-up. I have both RPi4 and 5 and I'm using one of the cheap AliExpress DSI 800/480 screens..
A big ask, but a line by line 'how to' would be a great help.

Hi Gareth,

You can start sdrberry on boot using crontab. You can checkout the wiki installation page. https://github.com/paulh002/sdrberry/wiki/Installation
In the installation directory there are some support files you can use.
You can use the steps below.

cd sdrberry/install
crontab crontab
chmod +x sdrstart.sh
sudo reboot

OK, Thanks. I'm working from the instructions here https://github.com/paulh002/sdrberry Install and compile with cmake... I honestly need more instructions on how to accomplish what must be the simple stuff to regular rpi users.. I have used sudo raspi-config to change to console mode (console autologin is enabled). I have run the latest updates (rpI4b with Sansdisk 64GB pendrive cheap 800x480DSI) "Download the install file......" Where from (this one?? https://github.com/paulh002/sdrberry/tree/master/install) and how do I select the destination folder? What should it be called? How do I make it run after I have downloaded it? Really sorry for what must be basic questions, but I need more how-to on this... Thanks Gareth

That does not matter.
In the console or through a terminal do the following steps just in the pi home directory.
That is direct from the command line.
This will install radioberry driver and configure for DSI display 800x400

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/paulh002/sdrberry/master/install/install.sh
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh RDB DSI

I've done it all via Putty (terminal/console??) and other than having to change the home/pi directory file call to what I used as my logon, it seems to have done everything without any visible errors.
I've run the cron commands and rebooted after fitting my Radioberry board (C025 selected during installation). On reboot I just get the rpi desktop. If I 'execute in terminal' sdrstart.sh it waits 15 seconds and then returns to the RPI desktop.
Not sure what might be missing. I'd also like to install for the ADALM Pluto but how do I make install.sh.1 actually run, or can I add other sdr's from the screen when its running?

You have to switch the pi into console mode. So switchoff the desktop.
in the console run :

sudo raspi-config

Then select cli mode and auto logon

It now bypasses the desktop, logs me in with various info and stops with myuser@SDRBerry:~$

The RPI green led flickers once a second so something is going on.

OK, from console I get this...

chmod: cannot access 'install_extra_sdr.sh': No such file or directory

It seems you created a specific user in the pi "myuser", I did not test this option. Better use the default user "pi"

Yes, I thought I was being sensible by not using default pi & raspberry. Now I have a slightly better understanding I'll just relfash the memory stick and have another go.

Right, working after a rebuild and re-installation :-)
Working with RadioBerry, HackRF and Pluto.
Is there a manual as such that perhaps lists best settings for each SDR, like decimation and SR?
Can extra bands be added above 13cm (9& 6).

Yes, you can add bands. In the band GUI you can scroll the page there you can edit the bands. Update or edit.

The pi4 cannot handle the very high sample rates directly, you need decimation. For the hackrf to work correctly it need higher samplerate with decimation.

it is in the install directory, you can copy it to the home directory.
