Not getting decodes in WSJT-X

I have my time sync'ed to NTP. I can hear strong stations on WSJT-X freq but not getting decoded messages.

Reduce the if strength a bit. If signals are to strong the decoder will not work good.

I use WSJT-X on my ICOM 7100 so I have some experience using it. I have tried various settings. WIth the WSJT-X waterfall it is a little easier because it has an indicator of the receive volume.

That's a good idea.
The decoding is done by the offical WSJX code, so that shoud not be the problem.
But I think right now the resample rate adjustment should first be fixed.

What do the colors on your WSJT-X waterfall mean. During montior does red mean overdriven signal?

I get my first waterfall inidications around 41db, which mostly black background.
At 52db I get mostly blue vertical blue lines with some "signals" in yellows and red.

Red is high signal, a bit is ok but not to much

I also had some scrolling issues in the normal version. If you don't see any stations try to scroll up the window. This I also fixed in the build version

Do I need a mouse to "scroll" in the decode window? I have the contour and a keyboard with a touchpad so I don't have a working mouse

Also every time I edit the sdrberry_settings.cfg I have to reset the permissions in order for the radioberry to work.

I was just taking pictures to show my levels and it just started working, not changing anything...

In the rx tab you can adjust the levels for the spectrum view, and also for the waterfall view

When I added the 12m band I assume the all the I2C settings are the addresses for your particular filter board. I just copied the settings from 10m since I was not sure what the values meant.

That's, ok. In the setup page you can configure I2c for filters. If the i2C device is not found then commands are not send

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. After I got the successful decodes I was never able to get it to decode again even using the same settings and matching the levels that I had in my pictures of when it worked. I must be doing something to inhibit decodes that I am not aware of.

Your sample rate is 48 Khz? There should not be any delays in the audio.

I was having more wierd problems. The audio on a signal sounds slow, not like the pitch changes of SSB but like the speed of the playback was slowed down. I got my 5v5a power supply and like magic everything is working better. No more lag in the Contour Shuttle, no more delay in the RFGain control and no more slow talking broadcast signals.
I still have some strange problems with the pluto+. I will get a signal in the waterfall that belongs on some other band. Like being on 2m or 70cm and dead center is a signal which turns out to be a broadcast FM station from 89mhz.
So still working but it is getting better. I am having an easier time tuning the WSJT-x signals so they decode. Next I want to use an external computer with JS8Call.

Hi, I restrained my self to answer in the middle of the night 😁. But good this issue is fixed. I updated the cat interface, so JS8CALL will maybe work. I don't know which cat commands it uses. But it is not difficult to add some. I did not implement all commands. It is possible to command sdrberry from logging software like qlog or other. Let me know if it works. You have to connect to port 5000 for the cat interface. 73 Paul

I will test it. JS8Call like WSJT-X allows to customize some commands but must generally choose a RIG to emulate. SO what rig did you use for the basic command set? My uSDX uses Kenwood FT-480 for instance.

I guess I am too stupid to figure this out. On all the other rigs I have there is a serial line coming out of the rig. Sometimes uart sometimes USB. Also I am aware that you could connect via a ip and a tcp port.
USB
I connect a USB cable between the SDRBerry and my laptop.
I don't see any new connections with lsusb
I see only one tty port on the laptop but is is a strange designation
I use WSJT-X for testing and try lots of tty ports at 34K 8,N,1 and it will not see the SDRBerry
(BTW WSJT-X does not have a Kendwood 891, then have an 890 but that could be an entirely different radio)
Then I try using HAMrigctl. I supply the SDR IP and set the port to 5000 (after making sure I can pint the SDRBerry) and it will no connect.
Maybe I am way off on understanding this.
I did get JS8CAll on the laptop listening to the output of the SDRBerry but no CAT control.

From computer you can only use TCP/IP the usb is a computer usb not a device usb. So to the pi you have to connect a serial device like a esp32

Ah so the USB essentially has the rx/tx not crossed.
So I need to purse the tcp connection. I would use the main IP of the RPI, right and then port 5000.

Somehow I got it to work for a short time. CHanged the freq but then it stopped. I need to get it to work with the satellite software eventually for doppler.
