I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I would like to suggest a feature request.
First of all, thank you for your great work – it's really nice to see the firmware continuously evolving and new features being added. I find this very impressive, and it's a pleasure to use!
Feature Request
I would like to have the ability to lock the touchscreen without having to turn off the display.
Use Case
I plan to bring my Snapmaker U1 to a maker fair. In public environments like this, there is always a possibility that someone might interact with the touchscreen when it is unattended.
A touchscreen lock feature would help prevent unintended or unwanted inputs that could interrupt or alter a running job.
My (non-expert) ideas for implementation
- Menu option: "Lock Touchscreen"
- Optional automatic lock after a configurable period of inactivity
- Visual indicator (e.g., lock icon or overlay) showing that the screen is locked
Unlock options:
- Long press on a specific area
- PIN or confirmation dialog
- Via the web interface (remote unlock)
Benefits
- Prevents accidental or unauthorized input
- Improves safety during public demonstrations
