How do I replace certain words in the pdf file?

I want to replace certain words in a pdf file and write to it, is this possible and how would I do this?

It is possible, but not trivial.
First you have to find the words (see pdf-text) and then update the content stream on each page.
Unless the replacement text has the same exact width you also need to figure out what to do with the layout.
