Changing sdk version from 2 to 4 causes the images to disappear

Here's an sdk2 watchface:

It runs nicely in Aplite, you can see the battery and the bluetooth icons (in the middle vertically in the left, right side)

After I converted it to sdk4 using the settings of cloudpebble, I compiled & ran it and now both icons are missing:
