Show loader or message while tabs are loading contents of new panel?

Upon switching tabs, the previous tab panel still shows for a split second before loading the new content, even though the tab bar shows that the new tab is selected. 

Is there a way to just "clear" the shown tab panel or show some loading message while the tabs are switching? 

Please let me know if more clarification of my issue is necessary. Thanks!
