BUG: Places still ending up with empty geometry in a way that breaks Typesense

See Issue #477 -- It appears it's still possible for a record to end up with the broken `GEOMETRYCOLLECTION EMPTY` state, even after the previously logged but was believed to be patched. It's not yet clear how the state came about, but it happened as recently as 10/22/2025. More investigation needed.
