Dockercontainer uses 500-600+ MB RAM

Hello Guys,

Just saw that the container used around 500-600MB of RAM.
Its in my option to much, for that it is just a simpel Passwordpusher.
I cant limit it with deploy.resources.limits.memory in my docker-compose file
because the container then gets instable.

Do you also have this much RAM used ?
Have you found a way to limit it ?
What do you think, is that reasonable that it uses 500-600MB of RAM ?
(Vaultwarden which I also use as container , uses around 39MB RAM as example)

Hi @seals187 - that sounds like a lot. Which container version?

You can set PWP__NO_WORKER=true to disable the background worker process.

Also set this environment variable: WEB_CONCURRENCY=0. That should reduce the memory quite a bit.

Doing the above gives me 205MB of use:

WEB_CONCURRENCY=0 will be default in the next release.

v1.53.7 is out with a nice reduction in memory. If you run that version or later with PWP__NO_WORKER=true, you should get the ~200MB number above.

Wow thats nice, its more than a 50% smaller RAM footprint thats really nice.

What was is for a background worker process ?
Was it the one for expired pushes and for deleting old records?, if yes, is that now not done anymore if
I enable: PWP__NO_WORKER=true ?

Here are the docs on the background jobs with a fair explanation on purpose. You can alternatively run a separate worker container or run them manually from time to time.

Nothing will blow up if you don't but it's more secure if you do.
